Friends School of Minnesota 3rd and 4th graders went on a full-day field trip to Fort Snelling State Park on Wednesday, October 24th. It was the first of four trips to the Mississippi River this year.
Friends School of Minnesota 5th and 6th graders went on a half-day field trip to the Coldwater Spring site of the Mississippi River National Park on Thursday, October 18th. The excursion was part of the 5/6th grade river unit.
On September 21, the whole school gathered for a celebration of International Day of Peace and to learn about the Water for Peace Project.

Friends School of Minnesota’s 8th grade class has been included in OutFront Minnesota’s 25th Anniversary Celebration. The students are award recipients in the organization’s 25 Under 25 Awards. Their video was nominated because of the strong message, and their leadership as youth in talking about why marriage is important for all families.
We are the Middle School Student Council Environment Committee. The Environment Committee got started because all of us wanted to see more trees be planted at Horton Park, across the street from our school. We’d seen many be cut down because of disease this year.

Friends School of Minnesota Student Council, has been selected by Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots to receive the Group of the Month award for their work with “Project Home.” They will be highlighted this spring on the Roots & Shoots website. Congratulations Student Council!
