Friends School of Minnesota alumnus Josh Draves-Kellerman (2006) visited the 7th and 8th grade music classes on Thursday, May 17th. Josh is now a bassoon performance/music education student at the University of Iowa and will be entering his junior year this fall.
Yea-we did it! All the third and fourth graders produced a great play: The Fairy Tale Never Told. Students brainstormed, wrote, rehearsed, and staged the play. This intensive drama unit is an opportunity for the students to take part in something that is made possible by all 35 of them working together!

Each year, Friends School of Minnesota creates a performance around its Quaker values and the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year’s performance was on January 13, 2012 at O’Shaughnessy at St. Catherine University in St. Paul. The celebration focused on the Quaker values of justice and integrity and how Dr. King’s work embodied those values.
On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, over 150 people gathered at Friends School of Minnesota for a community-wide sing along and stories from the civil rights movement with Hollis Watkins.
