The 8th grade are off to the BWCA for a week canoeing and camping with YMCA Camp Menogyn. They left early Monday morning as clouds parted after a rainy night, making a nice drive up the North Shore.
All School Crosby Farm Day
Last week, the whole school went down to the Mississippi River at Crosby Farm Regional Park. The 7th and 8th graders organized teaching stations about the lake, river, forest and fields to share their year’s work at this natural area in St. Paul.
Bayou Class Overnight Trip
With thunderstorms rumbling through the Twin Cities, the Bayou class of 3rd and 4th graders quickly packed the bus, hightailed it out of the city and headed down to YMCA Lake Pepin for our class overnight trip in early May.
A Fine Spring Day at a Nature Center
The kindergarten class spent part of this glorious May day at Harriet Alexander Nature Center in Roseville. Marshall and his class explored the woods and nature center together, learning about trees, bees, and what makes a habitat.
Fifth & Sixth Grade Trip Report
Friends School of Minnesota 5th and 6th graders had a great three night trip to YMCA Camp St. Croix and to Lake Country School Land School in Wisconsin. The focus was environmental education but as with all school trips, everyone learned so much more about working together, communicating, and building community.

Friends School of Minnesota middle school students went on a field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art one morning in January.
Down by the Riverside: Middle School Math, Science and Humanities
Seventh and eighth grade students are visiting Minnesota’s Crosby Farm Regional Park along the Mississippi River once a month for the entire school year. This interdisciplinary exploration combines math, science, geography, and writing with a focus on environmental education.
