Collins-Fieldseth Award for Exceptional Volunteerism 2013

Friends School of Minnesota appreciates the work of all of our volunteers.  Each year, we have over 100 volunteers who dedicate time to our school (in addition to our 1000+ Plant Sale volunteers!). Improving the Social Climate of Middle School: 8th Grade Capstone Project 2012-13

April Prairie Restoration at Coldwater Spring

Friends School of Minnesota 5th and 6th graders made their second to last field trip of the school year to Coldwater Spring on April 26th. Students went on a series of monthly field trips to various locations along the Mississippi as part of the 5/6 interdisciplinary unit about the Mississippi river.

7th and 8th Grade Spoken Word Unit

For the past two months, Friends School of Minnesota 7th and 8th graders have been studying the art of Spoken Word Poetry in their Humanities classes.  The unit evolved into a journey for our students that challenged them to express their own truth through poetry meant to be performed. The unit helped students achieve both writing and public speaking benchmarks.

Project Home: Volunteer Sign-up and Product Drive

We are the Middle School Student Council, and we are doing a product drive and looking to recruit volunteers for Project Home during the entire month of March. Project Home is an organization made up of volunteers that houses homeless families for 30 days per site in local churches. They support the overflow from Homeless Shelters.
