Friends School of Minnesota grandparent Kathie Simon Frank shares: “After many wonderful years of life filled with family and friends, a career I loved, and a little leftover time for my handcrafts and art, I retired early from my job to pursue more “work” with my hands.

Friends School of Minnesota’s 8th grade class has been included in OutFront Minnesota’s 25th Anniversary Celebration. The students are award recipients in the organization’s 25 Under 25 Awards. Their video was nominated because of the strong message, and their leadership as youth in talking about why marriage is important for all families.
Art-A-Whirl 2012 is fast approaching. Sponsored by the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA), Art-A-Whirl is the largest open-studio tour in the country. It’s a great opportunity to tour private artist studios and galleries, connect with the artists, and purchase original artwork.
Ellen Marie Hinchcliffe has published a poetry collection “Fierce Shimmer -Poems for Mama.” Her work is dedicated her mother Kathy Glover, a beloved Friends School of Minnesota staff member and friend who passed away in 2008.
Join me, Chad, and my partner Matt for Dining Out for Life on Thursday, April 26th from 5:00 PM- 11:00 PM. I volunteer at the annual benefit for the area AIDS/HIV organizations. Restaurants around the state donate a portion of their proceeds to charities.
