Shoppers entering the Friends School Plant Sale at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand are offered cardboard strawberry flats to help carry their pots of plants. These strawberry boxes are available to our customers because a group of hard-working volunteers collect and store over 10,000 boxes every year! Can you help?
Last Friday evening, I stood in the soaring lobby of the O’Shaughnessy auditorium greeting families, friends, and community members to the Friends School of Minnesota’s annual, all-school Martin Luther King Celebration. The excitement and pride amidst the families was clear; one parent told me it was her favorite day of the year, “even better than Christmas!” she declared.
Friends School of Minnesota’s 2014 Martin Luther King Celebration took place last January 17, 2014. This year students explored the Quaker value of community through a variety of songs, dances, multimedia, and spoken word performances. Thank you to everyone who joined us! Friends School of Minnesota alumnus Stefan Frazier (Class of 2009) and Jared Blessner’s band Venue Vanity is playing this Friday, January 10 at The Beat Coffeehouse in Minneapolis.
