Our 7th and 8th graders did an amazing job at the History Day Regionals event. Of the sixteen projects at Regionals, ten will be going on to State and four got honorable mentions. Our school actually swept the documentary category with all four of our documentary projects going on to State.
Archedictyon: New Encaustic Paintings by Laura Pereira
Friends School of Minnesota art teacher Laura Pereira spent her summer doing entomological research and making new encaustic painting which will be shown October 30 – November 2, 2013 at the Flow Art Space. Collins-Fieldseth Award for Exceptional Volunteerism 2013
Friends School of Minnesota appreciates the work of all of our volunteers. Each year, we have over 100 volunteers who dedicate time to our school (in addition to our 1000+ Plant Sale volunteers!). State Science and Engineering Fair 2013
Please congratulate 7th graders Sophia, Lauren, Flannery, and 8th grader Tessa for participating in last month’s State Science and Engineering Fair. Approximately 2500 6th-12th grade students participated in regional science fairs across the state. These four Friends School of Minnesota girls were chosen at the Twin Cities Regional Science Fair to proceed to the state fair.

Laura Pereira Awarded Minnesota State Arts Board Grant
Friends School of Minnesota art teacher Laura Pereira is a 2013 Minnesota State Arts Board grantee. This grant will allow Laura to spend her summer doing entomological research and encaustic painting.
