Kindergarten, first and second graders had a great trip to Zweber Family Farm last week. The weather was perfect and all the children had a great time running and playing at the farm and meeting all the animals.
What are middle schoolers doing with those buckets at recess? It’s a bit dry this fall and new trees need a little help getting established.
Kindergarteners took their first walking trip of the year to the community gardens. One of my goals this year is to take kindergarteners on weekly mini-trips to learn about the environment.
Kindergarten students, their teacher Marshall, and I walked through Friends School of Minnesota’s prairie garden to collect seeds. We found and sorted seeds of many shapes, sizes, and colors. Students discovered many ways that seeds can travel as well.
Welcome back to school! Here are a few highlights from the day.
The first day of kindergarten is drawing to a close. Spirits are peaceful and maybe a little weary. One girl asked me when her mom and dad would be coming (just one more half hour). I hope they have some good stories to share with their families tonight. I imagine it will be an early bedtime tonight.
The first day of school is finally here and our new kindergarten class is settling in. I dropped in to say hi at lunch time in their classroom. Looks like some happy kids!
