Friends School of Minnesota will host its second celebration of the United Nations International Day of Peace on Friday, September 21.
Friends School of Minnesota kicked off its 25th year at our Back to School Picnic. FSM families, alumni, staff and friends gathered to catch up, meet new families, and enjoy a potluck feast together. The sun set on another Back to School Picnic and everyone departed for one last summer weekend. See you Tuesday for the first day of school!
To honor our volunteers, we gather each year in our gymnasium for a buffet breakfast and program.
If you stopped by the grandstand Monday morning, it was clear the party was over. Bleary-eyed volunteers were disassembling and packing up the thousands of bits and pieces that make the Friends School Plant Sale run smoothly each year.
On April 12, Friends School of Minnesota 8th graders presented their capstone project “Love is Love: Defeat the Amendment” – a video about the issues surrounding the Minnesota Marriage Amendment and our community.
This year, we’re expanding the ways we’re connecting online to the Friends School Plant Sale community – shoppers, volunteers, and anyone interested in learning more.
Each year, Friends School of Minnesota creates a performance around its Quaker values and the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year’s performance was on January 13, 2012 at O’Shaughnessy at St. Catherine University in St. Paul. The celebration focused on the Quaker values of justice and integrity and how Dr. King’s work embodied those values.
