October Visitor Coffee

On October 25, over 40 family members and friends attended the first of four 2013-14 Visitor Coffees at Friends School of Minnesota. Archedictyon: New Encaustic Paintings by Laura Pereira

Friends School of Minnesota art teacher Laura Pereira spent her summer doing entomological research and making new encaustic painting which will be shown October 30 – November 2, 2013 at the Flow Art Space. The 22nd Annual Blake Symposium: Dr. Claude Steele

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, The Blake School will be welcoming Dr. Claude Steele, Dean of the Stanford Graduate School of Education and author of “Whistling Vivaldi: How Stereotypes Affect Us and What We Can Do,” as their school’s 22nd Annual Symposium featured speaker. The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Blake Upper School located at 511 Kenwood Parkway, Minneapolis. This event is open to the public.

2014 Wolf Ridge Calendar Fundraiser

Friends School of Minnesota middle school is selling fantastic Wolf Ridge calendars as a fundraiser. Sales will help pay for the environmental education field trips we make every year to Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center and other great places.

First Day of Kindergarten: Lunch!

What a beautiful day to welcome our new kindergarten class. The seventeen new students spent the morning learning their new routines and getting acquainted. Then it was time for everyone’s favorite time of the day: lunch!

Collins-Fieldseth Award for Exceptional Volunteerism 2013

Friends School of Minnesota appreciates the work of all of our volunteers.  Each year, we have over 100 volunteers who dedicate time to our school (in addition to our 1000+ Plant Sale volunteers!). They serve on committees, help with recitals, go on field trips, teach yoga, volunteer at the Plant Sale, support students’ reading, take photographs, make costumes, display artwork, lead tours at our open houses, shelve books in the library, and..
