Chinook Book 2014

Friends School of Minnesota has Chinook Books for sale as a fundraiser. This year, Chinook Book has expanded the new edition by adding 30% more dining offers as well as a lot of new businesses in St. Paul  for saving at local, sustainable businesses that promote healthy living in our community. FSMN alumna April Joy Geibrick (Cusick) (Class of 1995 cohort) was recently chosen for an Esprit du She story contest about her running and fitness success. “A few failed attempts to get fit didn’t stop April from trying. Fall Harvest Celebration with the Hi-Rise

Middle school students and teachers joined the Hamline Hi-Rise Garden Club and other hi-rise residents for the 2nd annual Fall Harvest Celebration. Our neighbors grew raised bed gardens to promote healthy eating with a Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP) grant. Last Monday, everyone gathered on their patio for light refreshments. The garden club assisted other residents harvest the produce and enjoy the fruits of the season. Emilia is a Broadcom Masters Semifinalist!

Congratulations to FSMN alumna Emilia Topp-Johnson (Class of 2014) who has been named a Broadcom Masters semifinalist. Last year, Emi researched corn fungus for her science fair project at Friends School of Minnesota (see previous post Emi’s Science Fair Project Wins!). Well Done, Noah Rice!

FSMN 7th grader Noah Rice swam in the Long Course State Championship Swim Meet at the U of M aquatic center in mid July. In the 11-12 year old boys division, he took 3rd place in the 50- and 100 meter-freestyle events and the 50 meter butterfly.
