Last week, Friends School of Minnesota students participated in the 2015 Minnesota State Musicalympiad™ competition. Students from schools across the Twin Cities gathered on Friday, November 13th at the St. Paul City School gym for two hours of fun, competitive music theory games. Three of our 5th graders participated in individual and group music theory listening/knowledge events and they all received multiple medals for coming in 1st, 2nd or 3rd in many of their events. Congratulations, team!

The FSMN team placed first in the state in their age category in the Team Rhythm Spell-off by listening to various rhythms and working cooperatively to spell the rhythms with magnets.

The program was sponsored by St. Paul City School and the Musicalympiad™ music literacy learning project.
