The Friends School Plant Sale is nearly upon us and we are putting out a call for volunteers to fill the remaining volunteer shifts.
If you haven’t yet signed up, or if you’re hungry to sign up for another shift, please visit our volunteer sign up page at http://friendsschoolplantsale.
Shifts start next Monday, May 7th and run every day through Tuesday, May 15. Over 1,000 people are needed to do everything from building display tables to shelving plants, and from tallying up orders to packing it all up after the sale is over.
Each year, volunteers are invited to shop at the presale, Thursday evening from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. This is one of the perks of being a volunteer! You can also come on Sunday late afternoon (after the sale is over and inventory is complete) to purchase any plants that are left over for a very deep discount.
Each volunteer is expected to work four hours. Shifts generally are from 7 or 8 am to 12 noon; from 12 noon to 4 p.m., 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and sometimes 8 p.m. until midnight. Find out about your specific shift time when you sign up.
Volunteer jobs generally fall into the following categories:
Setup (before the sale)
Plant receiving and shelving (before the sale)
During the sale
Clean up (after the sale)
