Friends School of Minnesota students have been busy planting trees this fall.

Sixth grade students helped St. Paul Parks and Rec department plant seven more trees at Horton Park across the street from the school. The park planted over 60 trees for Arbor Day but some were lost due to the drought. Students helped pull out and replace some of these trees under the guidance of arborist Karl Mueller.

In our own playground and gardens, kindergarten-6th graders planted five new fruit trees and a shade tree in the Friends School of Minnesota garden and playground. New trees include three cherry trees, two plum trees, and a sugar maple tree. Students helped dig poles, pile on compost, plant, and water.

We look forward to the years of fruit and shade ahead!
